My Journey

Welcome! This is an exciting adventure that we are on and we are thrilled that we can share it with you. I wanted to write today and share with you why I have decided to make health and fitness a priority in my own life as well as the lives of my family. I am a mother of three young boys and they are BUSY as you can imagine. I have often wondered where they get their energy from. My third pregnancy was complicated and left me unable to do much during the pregnancy and for a while afterward. I didn’t feel great about myself and knew I WANTED to be healthy and in shape, but didn’t know where to start and let’s be honest, it takes a lot of work and dedication. It isn’t easy at all.

One of my family members recently lost a large amount of weight the healthy way! By changing his eating habits and incorporating exercise into his life he has completely changed himself for the better. It inspired me to want to be better. If he could do it, why couldn’t I? I started researching pictures of people who had posted a before and after. They blew me away! I could not believe the transformation that can happen with one person, by incorporating healthy habits into their lives. Once again, it hit me. Why not me? So, a friend and I talked one day and decided to start lifting weights three times a week together. It was the best thing for me. It made me realize how much I like being active and how much I like strength training. Our time together those three mornings a week made me stronger. My body started feeling stronger and so did my mind! I started to realize that I, too, could do hard things! We did this for a couple of months when I heard about P90X3. I told my husband that I wanted that for my birthday. He got it for me and I haven’t looked back since. I can count on one hand the amount of times I have missed a workout. I crave exercise daily now. When I don’t do it, I have low energy and I feel like I have failed myself. It makes me a better person. It makes me happier and more energetic. It makes me less self-conscious and more confident. I am more positive in general. It relieves stress that I am carrying and helps me have a better outlook on life.

I titled this post “My Journey” because that is what this is for me. It is a path with winding roads. Sometimes I hit a dead end and have to go back a bit before I can continue on. I have tried to make small changes over time so that they are easier to adapt to. It’s okay to have a bad day! It’s okay to enjoy a treat with your family. I have learned that I can’t beat myself up about it and instead move on. Focus on today, and be your best self today!
